The stunning thing about biological manufacturing processes is that they use digital information so sparingly. Less than a gigabyte of digital information in DNA guides the assembly of something as complex as a human, but many gigabytes of digital information are required to guide the industrial assembly of something as comparatively simple as a microprocessor.
