The quote from December 2002 was:
In their efforts to explain the mysterious nature of light,
physicists make use of two metaphors, 'particle' and 'wave' and their
ideas about the dual nature of light are analogous to the ideas of the
theologian who uses the metaphors of 'Father', 'Son' and 'Holy Ghost'
to describe the triple nature of the Christian God. Both scientist and
theologian are prone to mistake metaphor for reality, which, in
religious terms, is to commit the sin of idolatry.
