BLACS Routines

The Intel® Math Kernel Library implements routines from the BLACS (Basic Linear Algebra Communication Subprograms) package (see BLACS Routines) that are used to support a linear algebra oriented message passing interface that may be implemented efficiently and uniformly across a large range of distributed memory platforms.

The original versions of BLACS from which that part of Intel MKL was derived can be obtained from http://www.netlib.org/blacs/index.html. The authors of BLACS are Jack Dongarra and R. Clint Whaley.
