Dr. Jane Arthur obtained her undergraduate degree in mathematics at the University of Leeds, UK, and her PhD in applied mathematics at the same institution. She has been a researcher at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) since 1994.

She has developed numerical codes to perform radiation-hydrodynamical simulations of nebulae around hot stars, stellar wind bubbles, and supernova remnants. In particular, she has studied the surroundings of massive stars in the final stages of their lives.

Dr. Arthur has been academic secretary of the Institute of Radioastronomy and Astrophysics from 2011 to 2015 and from 2019 to 2020.
