Thousands of people participated with great enthusiasm and excitement in the three venues that the Eclipses Michoacán Local Committee prepared for the observation of the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. There were 35 telescopes, 4,000 eclipse glasses and 200 volunteers among the three venues, which served more than 20,000 people in total who came to witness this beautiful natural phenomenon.

Photo galleries of each venue:

The eclipse was total in Sinaloa, Durango and Coahuila, and was observed as partial in the rest of the Mexico. The totality also crossed the United States and southeastern Canada. In Michoacán, between 77% and 87% of solar occultation was observed, with 81% in Morelia. The last total eclipse visible anywhere in Mexico before this one was on July 11, 1991, and the next one will be on March 30, 2052. The next total eclipse visible in Morelia will be until the year 2261.
