Dr. William Henney studied physics at the University of Oxford, UK, and obtained his PhD in astronomy from the University of Manchester. He has been a researcher at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) since 1994.

He combines spectroscopical observations with theoretical studies of radiative transfer, atomic physics and magnetohydrodynamics to investigate photoionized nebulae, bowshocks, and massive star forming regions.

Dr. Henney is Associate Editor of the Revista Mexicana de Astronomía y Astrofísica.
