MTI Miguel Espejel studied his undergraduate degree in computational systems engineering at the Technological Institute in Morelia, and his master’s degree in information technology at the Universidad Interamericana para el Desarrollo (UNID), Morelia campus. He has been a member of the technical staff at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) since 2001.
He is responsible for telecommunications at the UNAM Morelia Campus and also for the network infrastructure in the Institute of Radioastronomy and Astrophysics (IRyA). His contribution to the design, analysis and execution for the creation of the institute's High Performance Computer Laboratory is noteworthy. He keeps up-to-date on topics related to the design and operation of critical infrastructure, in addition to the norms and standards related to data centers. Another area of interest is teaching in ICT topics, particularly computer networks.
