Dr. Eric Faustino Jiménez Andrade did his undergraduate studies in physics at the Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla and completed his master’s degree in Astrophysics at the National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics, and Electronics in Mexico. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Bonn, Germany. Later he was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in the USA. He has been a researcher at the Institute of Radioastronomy and Astrophysics (IRyA) of the UNAM since 2022.

His research interests lie in the field of galaxy formation and evolution. He primarily uses observations from the Very Large Array, Atacama Large Millimeter Array, and Hubble Space Telescope to explore the structural evolution of galaxies. He investigates how star formation and black hole activity shape galaxies across cosmic time.
