Dr. Sundar Srinivasan received his bachelor’s degree in physics from The Guru Nanak Khalsa College of Arts, Science & Commerce, in Bombay, India, his master’s degree in physics from The Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India, and his PhD in astronomy from The Johns Hopkins University, USA. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Astrophysics in Paris, and at the Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics of the Academia Sinica (ASIAA) in Taiwan. He has been a researcher at UNAM since 2018.
He studies dust-producing stars in the Milky Way and nearby galaxies. He applies advanced statistical methods to large observational databases in order to construct models of the gas and dust around evolved stars.
Dr. Srinivasan organizes the meetings of the data analysis group in the IRyA.
